Vedas 52 - Kathopanishad - Part 6 D - Nachiketaa Attains Immortality
Nachiketaa having gained immense knowledge,
‘Brahmavidya' - profound wisdom,
Taught by Yama - the Ruler of death,
Returned to his father and his people.
He lived a strict life,
Ethically, morally and spiritually,
Adhering to the teachings and instructions,
Bestowed by his powerful teacher-Yama.
Following the strict code of Yogic discipline.
Nachiketaa was cleansed of all impurities,
His mind became pure and sublime,
And finally, attained ‘Moksha'.
‘Moksha' is liberation from the worldly bondage.
He was elevated to ‘Brahmaloka',
To a blissful state of Pure Consciousness,
From where there is no return to this phenomenal world.
May the Supreme Brahman protect and bless us!
May we gain spiritual knowledge and wisdom!
May we enjoy a life with vibrant energy and strength!
May our study lighten up our mind and intellect!
In this process of learning and gaining knowledge,
In this journey of reaching a state of immortality,
Let us not waste our emotion with anger and hatred,
Let us leave others to tread their own journey in peace.
May there be Peace -Peace -Peace!
Kathopanished extended to 20 poems in all - Vedas Poems 33 to 52.
The intellectual dialogue between Nachiketaa and Yama, were divided into six chapters. Each chapter, further divided into sections.
Let me admit, that I have not made, word to word translation in these poems. I have selected and interpreted them in my own humble way, trying my best, not to miss out on any essential point. I sincerely hope that the salient features of this Upanishad have been projected properly and in a pleasing manner. If inadvertently, I have missed out on any verse or meaning, I beg your pardon.
I acknowledge with much thanks the board of scholars and philosophers who with their expertise on this subject, have documented these Upanishads. Without the references of these books, I could not have written these poems.
My heartfelt thanks to all the poets who have read and commented on these poems. Above all, a million thanks to Poem Hunter and their team for publishing them in such a nice manner. I shall remain ever grateful.

Following his final journey from this world, he was released from the worldly bondage of birth and rebirth and attained Moksha on reaching Brahmaloka. It also contains prayers for the guidance and liberation of all mortal souls. Thanks, Geeta ji. It is such a profound work.
