Viewing Life Poem by Sandra Feldman

Viewing Life

Rating: 5.0

Life,
A loss of time?
Pessimism is with me today
And Life seems
To be very far away.

In Life,
There are moments
Of great separation,
Moment that tear you apart,
Moments of total subjugation,
When the spirit fails
And the future stales
And the heart, just falls apart
As Life stands still, here
Never again to fully depart,
And you crawl thru Time,
Knowing there won't ever be
The light, to set it right.

I sit here,
In the density of my solitude,
That is intense and asphyxiating,
Remembering how it was,
How fulfilling and extravagant,
Love can be!
And now, after so many years,
Still remembering,
How painful parting is
And will always be,
As the somber notes of Life,
Accompany me.

First and foremost,10/10. This is a wonderful poem of intense pessimism, to which I can relate, as I too feel like this sometimes. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings so frankly and honestly. Thanks for the Poet's Notes too- poetically said, truly said! 'And you crawl thru Time, Knowing there won't ever be The light, to set it right.' - So wonderfully said! 'And now, after so many years, Still remembering, How painful parting is And will always be, As the somber notes of Life, Accompany me.' - You take me along in your journey through pessimism.

Sandra, this is very powerful and sad. A sensitive soul, you are, and been hurt too many times, I suspect. Good poem, and notes too.
