Waiting Patiently Poem by Bill Cantrell

Waiting Patiently

Rating: 5.0

People have become maggots,
feeding off the wounds of their fellow man
Nationalists support their nuclear capabilities
to eliminate a nation,
yet,
they go out of their way to protect those
worthy of death and more

I find no pleasure whatsoever
in writing a poem such as this
I choose freestyle because to put this
in rhyme or rhythm would be a mockery
to the innocent victims of societies ruthless scum

Trust not in the political academia disguising themselves,
as saints in sheep's clothing
as they cannot come to any agreement between the
great gulf dividing the masses, polarizing them
to this side or the other,
giving into no quarter to a peaceful compromise

Carefree days of innocence have stagnated
This good green earth is being raped violently
and they exalt themselves for their achievements

Faults religions hands are bloodstained,
and cannot be washed off
Their own book shows,
they will by no means go unpunished
In fact the nations will suddenly agree to devour her
and those who support the great harlot
In the days to come, wicked men will advance from bad to worse

In spite of all of this,
I cannot help loving my fellow man

Although difficult at times,
Gods word leads me in the path towards joy
and though I stumble many times,
with his right hand, he lifts me up refreshing my hope,
oh, praised be his holy name to time indefinite,
and beyond

Do not get me wrong,
I am by no means a saint
But blessed be the meek,
for our savior promised that, they shall inherit the earth
Yes, they shall find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace
I pray every day and night for forgiveness
Also, I take a neutral stand regarding politics,
The only hope is Gods kingdom
as Daniel mentioned it will crush all existing kingdoms,
sparing not even one

Yet, there is a solid hope for those searching for the true God
For just as the sun faithfully rises from the east,
he will keep his promise to deliver all those who call,
upon his name

In the meantime, I will wait patiently
I will obey the laws of the land,
unless they conflict with Gods will,
as I try my best to help others,
And not to be conquered by evil one

Are we not sailing in same boat? We have very limited choices to make. Yes keeping calm and patience is what expected from sober and sensible ones. Thoughtful Poem. Thanks for Sharing Bill.

No rhyme is the joy of expressing emotions over and over again. I also like this form of writing more than others. Full Stars*********

A profound poem, we all wait patiently in the hope that one day there will be peace and brotherhood on earth, when everyone will care for their fellow human beings and there will be no more wars and atrocity.
