Oh you kindred poetess,
Sailing on a dream come true
Though other poets set to sea,
The tides belong to you
The taste of salt is in the air,
Above you the albatross glides
You take a quill to pen your poems,
Then off away he flies
And when the sea goes stagnant,
You are stirring the green and blue
Your poetry is your ship of dreams,
The winds are guiding you
Your heart, it is your compass of flesh,
Beating a path to the man of your dreams
Finding the treasure you both have pursued,
You gladly go lost at sea
Oh you kindred poetess,
On an ocean of dreams you find your peace
Your passion is your poetry,
And there you find release
Your poetry is your ship of dreams... Beautiful line from a magnificent poem. A pure poetic joy. Wonderfully written.
Thank you Rose Marie, you are kind to read and comment, I try to write poetry that encourages others and when a poem can do that it serves a purpose, again thank you
It's fantastic Bill I'm just mesmerized by the magical words and wonderful scenes
'Your poetry is your ship of dreams'....and...'On an ocean of dreams you find your peace'. magnificently expressed. Loved it.
There are Oceans of love I have for your poetry This is another one that has touched me. Each line carefully written to perfection on hope and dreams that seemed forlorn yet is revived through your words. So intoxicating to read! To my favorites!
Today, I read this poem of yours and find myself inspired! It is really lovely and I also like the image of the poetess at sea, with her light guiding her. Thank you for this encouragement for all of us would-be poets!
Thank you so very much for your reading and I’m especially happy that you liked it! There are only a handful of my poems that I really like and this is one of them, you made my day!
