We are too consumed with life
While Life by us is passing by;
Never seems enough the Time,
Nor can we admit its inevitable ‘good-bye'.
Some early dreams so full of promise,
By heart truly believed, —made true,
And all towards them was a compromise,
And when achieved, —no more a dream.
Each dream's a step in life's pyramid,
Like oxygen—vital, and consuming life;
And as we climb, so does the greed,
And when at peak, —the end of life.
We are too consumed with life
While Life by us is passing by:
One day, too late, we realise…
That was our Life, and its ‘good-bye'.
'Some early dreams so full of promise By heart truly believed, made true; And all towards them was a compromise, And when achieved, -no more a dream.' reads like Shakespeare, reminds me of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', beautiful
