We Waltz In Vienna Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

We Waltz In Vienna

Rating: 5.0

Let's make love to a Leonard Cohen song
As we burn underneath the fire of desire
And watch the flames extinguish the moment
For our love is poison for you and me
As we waltz in Vienna to a Strauss lullaby
With the fatal kiss on the moon
The stars explode with delight
And we lie folded into each other
As the sun barely wants to shine

Even though this love won't last, it is described in hauntingly beautiful imagery.

Loveliest and sadly created this non-existing love in real life, but so very true in the poet's mind, very romantically captured dear LeeAnn!

Its the poetry of a scene from a romantic film, like lovers suspended in a minute of infinity where only time bursts the bubble. enchanting and so pure.

LeeAnn, this is brilliant. It makes me think of coming of age just as the age that defines one's life is about to fade away. Perhaps that perfect one night dance in Vienna is a case of 'it's never too late...'
