Write a poem
that refuses to rhyme and no one will read it.
Pen poetry that makes no sense,
but rhymes every line, and
the world will concede it.
It's a messed up time;
a monkey drinking wine,
with an elephant dancing in a tutu,
the skunk gets drunk, and sleeps in his trunk,
while the world blames either me or you.
- So, go figure,
what's this all really mean,
a rhyme, a line, is it a a nickel or a dime?
...a drink or a wink (I saw you blink!)
Does anyone, anywhere, ever care if it makes sense
in past or present tense,
just so long as the words
-yours or mine-
the listeners find
are simple, and not too absurd...
I am absolved! ! I cannot write a poem that end-rhymes and makes sense. I find it hard to write smooth lines that rhyme and have significance I have a friend who end-rhymes her faith poems and they sing! ! ! I swear she must talk in rhyme to sound that natural. I have tried writing in a rigid formula like a sonnet but I cannot say I enjoyed the experience and I doubt many enjoyed the reading of it. But it is fun to experiment! Otherwise, write in freedom, .
Its oksy to pen what only you understand...for this bis your art and your creativity....its others fault that they don't make sense to them
A rhyme is fine, as long as it's mine. And here's something true: I like yours too.
To rhyme or not to rhyme, that is the question. For decades now I’ve had the conviction that the form and content of a poem should fit its function. Rhyme is one of a few helpful memory devices. But, as you allude to, some abandon sense to make a poem rhyme. -Glen
So true, Glen. Some poems make no sense at all but have good rhymes!

I enjoyed this conversational poem about poetry and give it a 10++++++++++++ for courage above the call of duty! ! !
