What Am I? - Poem by Liz Berrios

Belonging to darkness
Not having a choice
My skin is so white that everything looks dark
Living forever that’s my one gift
Seeing how time changes, and no change with in
I learn the way of life of those who will become my prey
Wanting to love like mortals, but allergies forbid
The light will be the death of me
So in dark alleys I’ll stay
Be careful where you walk at night
Because it could be you who I dine on next
