When You Smile Poem by Lyn Paul

When You Smile

Rating: 5.0

When You Smile
Do you smile, for you see how far you have come
Or does your smile take you just where you want to be,
Into future destinations that you believe, you may see
Is your smile brought by pure delight of just being blessed,
Healthy and content
Could it be just simply anything...
Can widen that grin
From inspiring music that makes your heart sing

My smile has travelled
Yet wrinkles it has gained
A little too much frowning in between its hay day
Perhaps,
Not aware of the frowns as many had been built up inside
Something was taken from me
Travelling a very selfish ride

Yet I now know who is the driver
I so know
I was in the wrong car
I certainly took the wrong road
The navigators greed
Both
Too blinded to see

To see
Greed is a disease
There is no cure
The ingredients is like poison
For it has been known to kill
It is the strength of the victim
Believing great future ahead
Hoping fortunes may be reversed
That greed will pack its bags
To see guilt for what has been taken
They have lost what they have taken

For we gained in time from greed
Gained survival

A Beautiful pic Lyn. Baby is cute. We travel through wrong road, taking a wrong seat also. We realise it too late. sometime we feel we may pass the wrong road too, may be with some difficulties. Life is never a smooth and ride is too difficult sometimes. Beautiful poem. I loved reading it.

Truly said, greed leads to destruction whereas our ego finds it constructive

Nicely worded, Lyn. Greed, it seems, is deeply embedded in human nature. So many are'nt aware of the damage it is causing to others and this world in general. Well written with a profound message.

The photo portrays a harmonious picture and I believe that greed shall never sneak into it. As you have aptly described, ' Greed is a disease There is no cure The ingredients is like poison For it has been known to kill.' Yes, greed is a disease and since it is hard to find cure for it, one should be careful not to cultivate this habit.

Greed is a disease There is no cure The ingredients is like poison For it has been known to kill So correctly put! From the picture, I can guess once you were all smiles..... but the smile faded away in between! I am sure you have regained it back! Great write!
