Where To Search A Bride?

Rating: 4.8

Where to search a bride for growing son,
How to cultivate maize, wheat or corn?
Where to go who has a lovely daughter?
Bride's father may be a merchant master.

In fear of dowry girl's father sure hides,
Mother sells ornaments and again guides,
To get a son-in-law near good in nature,
She adores deities daily and plans future.

Many too today do not need girl name,
Killing foetus in womb provoke shame.
Only son they need and not a daughter,
They neglect girl more nourish son better.

Of course it is the matter of more sad,
Not needing girl child is very, very bad.
Oh merchant for your son you look at,
Where you find bride as girls you hate?

Who does gift a bride for your nice groom?
Which daughter-in-law decorates home?
Who will become mother of grand children?
Who will save the dynasty from danger pain?

Where to search a bride, who will worship?
Daily at home to God who will sure gossip?
Who will show your son the righteous path?
Save a daughter is symbol of mother Earth.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A son's mother tells to, "Where to search a lovely bride for son? In which way we have to cultivate maize, wheat or corn in land? Who has a beautiful daughter? Where to go for searching her? She expects that bride's father may be a merchant or master. Girl's father sure hides due to fear of dowry. Girl's mother sells ornaments and again guides her husband as well as daughter. She urges to get a son-in-law of good quality near her in front of her husband. For this purpose she daily worships various deities and plans her future accordingly. Many too today do not need girl child or her name at home. Few of them provoke shame killing female foetus in womb. Only they need son and not daughter. That is why if at all a girl child takes birth in family they neglect her and nourish son in a better way. Of course it is a matter of more sad. Not needing girl child is definitely very, very bad issue. Again son's mother asks, "Oh merchant, for your son you look at soon for a bride. You hate girls. So tell me where do you get a bride for your son? Who gifts a bride for your nice groom? You just think which daughter-in-law decorates your sweet home? You expect to see your grand children. Now you tell who will become the mother of them? From danger and pain who will save your dynasty then? Who will worship daily and gossip to God at home at all time if a bride will not be there? Where to search for such a bride you tell? Then now you think and tell who will save and show your son about righteous path in life? That is why you and all save a daughter with care. A daughter is a definite symbol of mother Earth." This poem is based on such theme. This is written in Odisha, India and dedicated to the people of the world.

Unfortunately many parents prefer to have only boys as their children! A girl child is still seen as a burden or a liability! But they never think that only if there are enough girls, their boys will get good mates! Parents should learn to see boys and girls with equal worth! A great write!

A lovely write exposing this funny human society where a man always needs a woman but at the same time he hates a woman and he kills a girl fetus. Still we call it a modern society! ! ! I believe a naked in the jungle also is much literate than us, he at least does not kill a female fetus.Shame to these devilish men. Thanks for sharing.

It is just so unfortunate. Boy and girl are like two wheels of life. Cut one, the other is sure to be destroyed. Greate write.
