Who Cares?

Rating: 5.0

Four people in the barber shop,
and I am next in line.
There's just one face that has a mask,
and that one face is mine.

The virus still is raging wild;
it's really not a scam.
Some people just don't seem to care;
why don't they give a damn?

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Couldn't stand how shaggy I was getting. I either needed a haircut or a dog tag. A month or so ago I was in the home town of Cowboy Ron Williams, Durango, Colorado. No, I didn't get to meet him. At the time I didn't know that was where he lived. Anyway, in Colorado it is now state law that you need to wear a mask in all public places: grocery stores, banks, barber shops, etc. There is no such law yet here in Utah. Sometimes I wish there were.

Great poem. Good thoughts. My husband's barber makes men get appointments so only one customer in shop at a time. I wear one, even at our local post office as a courtesy to others.

A wonderful poem. So simply put but hard hitting. Loved your style of penning. To my Poem List.

I hope this poem will be chosen as Poem Of The Day and posted in public places as a reminder to all people the importance of wearing a mask. The spread of Covid 19 is still on the rise and according to studies its peak may yet to come this autumn or winter. Some places that were not hit by the virus before are now experiencing the claws of pandemic.
