Will You? ? ? ? - Poem by Melvina Germain

Will you love me when I’m old and gray
and can barely hear a word you say.

Will you love me when my face begins to fall
and I’m no longer standing straight and tall.

Will you love me when my words are no longer clear,
and I slur almost every word you hear.

Will you love me when I ask you your name,
but depend on you just the same.

Will You? ? ? ?

'Will You'. How powerful yet laden with vunerability at every line. Frighteningly true to everyday life and poetically put in the light that it deserves as this happens to all of us if we live long enough more often than not. Let's hope the answer comes back a resounding yes! Beautifully written with flair. (Report) Reply
