I wander along an empty shore
As a gentle tide slowly recedes
Among the sea weed and sea shells
That crunch quietly underfoot.
Only the sound of soft breaking waves
Invade the stillness of the hour.
Solitary footprints trail behind as evidence
And those of my hound, Clara.
A daytime moon looks down from a
Clear blue sky and as I gaze heavenwards
I wonder if she is also out looking up
At the same moon and thinking of me.
A wonderful poem. Extremely well penned dear poet. Liked it

Your longing for a loved one eats into my heart, I always feel your pain whenever I read your poems. Thanks david
I have come to love the walks on a desolate beach. A very happy new year to you too David.
Wonder what Wonder why Wonder how's she ... nice and touchy

Happy new year David. Your poem of beauty and solitude is calming and hopeful...even your hound is silent as you walk the beach and venture onto the sand of a new year. Take care.
