You & I Poem by Kewayne Wadley

You & I

Rating: 5.0

Tonight there's nobody in the world but you and I.
Tonight Let's run free laughing about through the street.
Without concern.
Without worry of standing in line.
We'll pass the street lights as they consume the minutes
lost in the atmosphere of your touch.
We'll pass the cars, now stopped in awe of your smile.
The way your cheeks protrude upward without fear of who's
watching.
The stars,
They'll shine.
They'll glitter.
But none could compare to your smile tonight.
The way your hand fits in mine
In the gleam of the rearview mirrors we'll pass.
Under the spotlights of the street lights.
I'll protest my love
Without worry or fear, I'll spin you around as my smile
orbits yours. As I'll hold you tight
Lost in the numerous lights that count our footsteps.
Tonight there's nobody in the world but you and I.
Let's do something the world wouldn't expect.
Lets run free inside the movie theater as I fade into the movie
shown in your eyes.
Let's eat and dash at whatever industry you like.
Somewhere you've always wanted to go.
As there is no need to stand in line.
The stars,
They'll shine.
They'll glitter.
But none could compare to your smile tonight.
