Schizophrenia Episode Interlude
With each step the world is not walked into
But falls, pushed behind under me -
I stand perfectly still, but can't walk in a straight line.
I try to roll a cigarette, sweet golden brown
But my trembling extremities fail me.
I can barely calm my nerves: unable to perform.
When words are uttered,
They're muttered & I miss them.
Underwater muffled converse with no intent.
My dozing eyes are dosed-up to their globe;
My slowing sighs are closed-up from the world.
Eighteenth century rest-cure asylum
Not so state-of-the-art,
