Ashraful Musaddeq

[03] Life

(Grateful to poet C. T. Heart, my friend)

Life is dead shell
Rotten and spreading bad smell
Who will take that

Flickering lantern of winter night
Put out in the dark
Even then remorse wakes up

Always lifeless
But stone is still valuable
Alive over ages

Life is glittering rain particle
Gradually driven
At last into soil

    Food for thought:
    To which pastures
    Does Ashraful turn upon
    To feed his thoughts!
    Lovely & deeply significant poem,
    Whose thoughts
    Are inversly propotionate
    To its size!

Reminds me of Nissim Ezekiel's 'Beauty'.
In your bones the marrow may stir as you see realities of Life.... or when you read Ashraful Musaddeq's 'Life'. But, that it how it is.
The concluding lines are really good.
    Great poem.

varried thoughts....although to me it seemed a bit contradictory....Liked yet, as I am your fan...Brishti Mazumdar

Very interesting poem, to start with it looks provocative but not so, if you look deeply. To become alive in the material world, one has to die in the worlds of spirit and thus your definition holds. It's beautiful, really enjoyed it....10+++

Beautifully crafted. I would have dealt with it the other way round:
    Life is a live shell
    Kicking up and beating.......
