A Bird, Rising Up From A Gravesite Poem by james watkin

A Bird, Rising Up From A Gravesite

It stunned them like a bell
Heads drooped, that awaken;
But for despondency drooped;
Not when sleep is taken.

If outrageous to hear
More so, eying the source;
That a throat so shallow
Could vibrate with such force!

Introspective fog, whose
Unreconciled guilts doomed
For that sorry look, when
Out of it a bird loomed!
