One day I sent some words to Tel Aviv.
Perhaps, they whisper in the grasses yet.
Good-bye to my last teacher and my best.
A letter to be read over your grave.
I left you in another century.
There was no place for poetry to stop.
I think you understand how limited
Mere words and stanzas are to bring you back.
Your shadow lingers on that distant pane,
Through which two wordsmiths viewed their brevity.
You often signed your letters with, 'Till soon',
Warm words far more endearing than farewell.
In memory of Walter Barzelay
'As always' you are fragrant fresh In your epitaph for your teacher 'Till soon', In gratitude it is deeply drenched For lasting peace the flowerbed blooms. Ever a friend, CP
fond indeed..........lovely words, nicely penned down...hats off to this tribute
it is very very nice to see a tribute to the teacher........ thank you for your kind sharing...........
Your words carry a mix of reverence attachment love and admiration you have towards your departed teacher, Sandra...a tribute, eloquently sad, to say in brief...10
Sandra, You have not lost your magic. Fine - very, very fine. Bill Grace
I have sadly, had the task of writing many a eulogy, but they are always laced in love, and tribute, for the touches of inspiration, offered to me....your farewell is a wonderful wave goodbye...enjoyed it immensely. I would like to invite you to read my submitted poetry, as I am new to this forum, and value all critiques. PEACE
dear sandraji reverence for teachers is diminishing along with globalization. but you still keep it in your soul.........thanks for these wonderful lines

I would like to translate this poem
I only just found this. Seems strange I choose the same title for a poem of mine I'm not sure it is a good as this however. Great teachers are the hardest to find one and when you do you should treasure him/her as you have done here.
