A Needed Rest 2 - Poem by Michael P. McParland
Now I can lay down and relax for
a short and needed rest with a smile on my face.
Knowing your hearts singing to me
I feel so very warm and soothed in comfort
you've provided my sweet Angel dove.
A needed rest for a short while than
up again to write you more poems,
for now though this rest to recharge my mind
for fresh words and ideas to honor my love.
I also want to shut my eyes and dream of
your beauty my precious one so dear and treasured.
Come hold me so close and snuggle under the blankets,
giving total peace and strength as we smile drifting
off your head on my chest hearing my heart beat,
it beats for you my sweet Angel of light.
A needed rest for a short bit to refresh and
dream of my lady I love and so miss.
I thank you for the smile and light heart
for eternity we'll do that for each other no doubt.
