A Passing Thought Poem by Mamta Agarwal

A Passing Thought

Rating: 4.4

The train
Moved,
And
In no time
We
Were out
In the countryside.

Pink clouds
Dotted the evening sky.
Far out,
Paddy fields.
Smoke
Billowing out
Of the chimneys.

Dim lights
In the cottages
Of sparsely populated
Villages.
Soon its
Twilight,
All is quiet.

Just a few miles
Away from the city,
Which comes to life
At night,
With
Nocturnal activities.

Yes, a train journey normally evokes a train of thoughts as landscapes pass by, while we move ahead to our destined end, with a sense of joyous expectation! It has been well expressed! -Raj Nandy
