A Selfish Wish - Poem by Keisha Thomas

It grieves my heart to know that you are away from my hands
Your scent, taste and touch have all escaped my body
To know that you share that with someone else causes my body to ache
If I could of locked you away I would of no doubt done that
But to clip your wings is to kill your essence
To destroy your love and warmth
But ot lose you is death to my soul suffering to my body
But not to let go is death to the living

    in this life no way
    to escape pain
    always gonna bang in
    hard
but our paid twists our life
    is all that matters
    and here
    it has
    turned
    into a wonderful poem
