The horizon holds no more dreams for me,
Dreams are now inland rivers
And the standing ovation of untamed monsters
Highlighting my insignificance and surprising significance,
As I travel with you on mind swept waters
With diverted tributaries, like our singular journeys
Down roads of hardship, laughter and continuous pain
That swallowed up every star in the darkest blanket,
We did not escape the thunder storms
On the trail of no surrender,
The arrows of destruction had been fired,
Now we have found each other swept up on the banks
Of the mighty River Barrow, a snake wilful and playful
As it bows to our rise to unity
Of scars healing in the rain sodden streets
Of Carlow, to entice me to come ashore
Into your saturated eyes of the intimacy of home
And all that means,
Swimming in the warm pools of love,
The skies of the past are changing back to blue
And the untamed monsters give a standing ovation
For the acceptance and passion that is being with you.
Strong Love. Not destroyed by storms and darkness. The true power of unconditional love. I love this wonderful poem, very touching and also thought provoking.
from stanza 2 to stanza 3 you switched from present tense verb forms to past tense verb forms. i think i sometimes accept such writing; i'm not sure here. i'm liking this though it may make Bri, me, think TOO MUCH. ha ha. it seems to flow like a river! (cont.)
(cont.) I guess people CAN be both 'significant' & 'insignificant' re different parts of their selves and their lives. “Wilful” was once the only common spelling (and still remains the dominant spelling in British English, again according to Google Ngrams) . But then things changed, and now “willful” is considerably more common (cont.)
A wonderful poem. 'Swimming in the warm pools of love, The skies of the past are changing back to blue And the untamed monsters give a standing ovation For the acceptance and passion that is being with you' - Loved the concluding lines, very poetic. Also loved the comment of @Mihaela Pirjol.
What a wonderful poem this is and I quote few of my favourite lines: 100/10 On the trail of no surrender, The arrows of destruction had been fired, Now we have found each other swept up on the banks

(cont.) To MyPoemList. i enjoyed it much more the 2nd time, am comfortable with verb tenses, and manage to follow from one one stanza into another, non-stop. VERY poetic! bri :)

I would like to translate this poem
I love the emotional intensity of this poem! I love the imagery, and the force of hope, which only can be felt after a profound suffering! Absolutely wonderful!
