Looking in my old room, cleaning out
the house after my mother entered her
final rest, as I looked at the walls that
once knew every secret in my tender heart
The window that I would look out, and see
the street light below dance magicly with
summer's shadows of the night
Cleaning out the old room, had really brought
back alot of happy memories, and with a smile
I wipped the closet shelf filled with dust and saw
on the side and there was a heart engraved
with 2 young lovers name with an arrow marked
forever....... I stopped, and the music sang in my
heart, as I then wandered in my mind of days
when life was so so sweeter.....
Now, I have cleaned and emptied this room
for the last, and as I closed the door, I stopped
and went back to the closet, and touched a
very old engraved heart.......
Fond remmembrances of the heart tend to stay with us until the final nod of death from this world, only to find us reconnecting with loved ones again, along with our maker and Jesus Christ. A great write. God bless all poets and loved ones-MJG.
Bonnie, Your commitment to poetic excellence is clearly shown in this 'memorable' poem. It shows the reader just how much of our past is still with us... Blessings, Robert
