After The Weekend Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

After The Weekend

Rating: 5.0

I am blinded by the broken light of dawn
Though the shattered glass of my window
When my eyes came to, the googy feeling of sleep
Continued to beg me to return
But I saw my alarm clock and understood that I over-slept
Dragging my feet onto the floor
The guilt I felt in my mind was holding me in its grip
Realising there's no reason what I did
Other than, I was sleepless for the two nights before
I went to the kitchen for something to eat
And after many cups of coffee befor breakfast
I could function normally
I looked around..... And realised I needed to clean

Brilliant, LeeAnn! And too, too real. I'll be looking around in my garage in just a few minutes.
