Albert Einstein 33 - an Eventful Year -1910 Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Way back in 1895,
When Albert was a boy of sixteen years,
His first year in Switzerland,
He stayed with a Winteler family in Aargau,
A village near Zurich, to complete his school studies.
Jost and Pauline Winteler were so kind and affectionate,
Looking after Albert, like their own son, during his stay with them,
That Albert and later, his whole family developed a warm bond!

The friendly association between the two families -
The Wintelers and Einsteins continued over the years.
Even though Albert left Aargau to join ETH in Zurich,
The families kept up a warm relationship with each other.
It is no wonder that the close friendship developed
Into love between Maja Einstein and Paul Winteler.
No sooner did Maja complete her Ph.D, and Paul his law studies,
Maja and Paul got married during the month of March in 1910.

Just as the wedding celebrations completed early in the year,
In late July, the same year, another major event took place.
Mileva gave birth to their second son - Eduard-
Nick named as ‘Tete' or Teddy!
But unfortunately, Papa Einstein had no time
To play with his Teddy boy - Eduard,
Just as he used to play with his eldest son - Hans Albert!
Prof.Einstein became excessively involved with his science!

When you become
An innovator,
A contributor,
A humanist,
And a pacifist,
You have a strong responsibility towards world, at large!
That's when the priorities change!
For Prof. Dr. Einstein, the world became his family!
