As I look in the mirror
That sad glare in my eyes
The loneliness I try to hide
It couldn’t be any clearer
The things I feel inside
Holding in the pain
Feeling like glass
Cutting through my veins
The reflection of my tears
As crystal spears
The shadow of my eye lids
Overpowers every bit of my face
I’ve held this pain
Inside for long
It no longer feels wrong
Sad by the outcome
This dark cloud
Keeps my mind running wild
When will this
Look be gone?
Slowly filled with anger
Becoming my own
Damn stranger
Am I the only one?
Everybody sometime during their life had a negative emotion toward their self. It is natural to feel that way. But the important thing is how we overcome.
Everybody sometime during their time had a nagative emotion to war
Negative feelings should not be allowed to overcome us. it is poison for a happy life. Friends and good Friends is the medicine. smile and the world will smile with you. God bless you. great work.! ! !
Dr. Tony Brahmin, sometimes those negative feelings are needed to weight out the positive ones. Need a balance, like a yin & yang... The key is not to allow those negative feelings become who we are.
That sad glare in my eyes. Negative feelings; but, there is hope ahead. Please, don't give up on your dreams in life. Nice work.
Edward Kofi Louis, not one inch of giving up in my blood 😉 Thank you for your feedback

Melissa? NICE. People who give of themselves for others, are seldom thought to have 'needs', wishes or desires. No... you are 'not' the only one. But when 'alone' many feel that way.
Lawrence, thank you. This poem is one I was a little worried my message wasn't as clear
