It was my first year of college
when inquisitiveness was marvellous.
A lady assistant professor
entered our gallery to take
our economics class.
All boys and girls were stunned
to see her natural beauty matchless.
Still she adorned herself with a gorgeous
saree, pendants and diamond necklace.
She told us she would teach
frugality, honesty, development theories.
Advised us to shun our fear and ask
her any doubts and queries.
Her teaching was as beautiful as her
appearance and charismatic personality.
Her vocabulary, brilliance, graphics
examples and eloquence are
still reverberating in my mentality.
She emphasized that honesty and frugality
are jewels in every sphere of life.
Both are highly inter- related and pleasing
in our individual, national, global vive.
Advised us to ride less and walk more,
spend less and save more as our Country
imports all crude petrols from outside.
So mind catching was her first lecture
that all in the class decided to abide.
She left the college in a Limousine
driven by a man wearing official attire.
Her residence was hardly half kilometre
from our college corridor.
Very next day in the morning news paper
appeared a bold line of disproportionate case.
Our Professor's house was sealed,
all vehicles and assets are confiscated.
Her husband was a top officer in the
ministry of finance department.
He had amassed massive wealth,
hundred times disproportionate to his emolument.
When Madam started teaching
those who do not economise would
have to agonise,
one more concept,
a boy stood up and said
'Madam, yesterday our English Professor
explained example is better than precept'.
Beautifully presented with vivid images. Top Marks! ! !
What a wonderful story! A great moral lesson that we must practice in our life's journey. Yes, what we say, we must practice to set examples for others.

I would like to translate this poem
A teacher who presents as good role model, and leads by example, creates a better world. I was honoured, and humbled, to have been taught by some that were truly outstanding. And the tradition continues here on PH with lessons from some of the best. Great story poem!
Many thanks to you poet Richard.
