I can pretty well do the basics,
On this ever changing internet,
I was born in an era of having nowt,
Just a set of encyclopaedias instead.
So having our first computer,
Back in the day was fun,
Then facebook arrived,
A chance to poke and wave at people,
I hadn't spoken to or seen for years!
A time of selfies,
Pics of restaurant meals,
And glasses of beer!
A chance for others to show off,
Everything they've got.
I've tried doing a selfie to put on,
But somehow I can't get the grasp of it!
I end up looking like a scared rabbit,
A right moron!
When I try doing a pout,
I look like a demented trout!
Thank god for filters,
It's amazing what they can do,
It hides all those blemishes and wrinkles too!
It surely is an ever changing world,
From when I was a girl.

Jayne I can perfectly relate. I had my first smart phone in 2014. But the young generation is so much ahead of us. I love how you have brought up this topic. Though we are using technology but I still feel like a fish out of water on social media.
Thank you Nosheen x I appreciate your comments x There is so much I've yet to learn!
Just perfectly described! With terrific sense of humor and computer guide. All encompased

I love this poem, Jayne. It's funny, yet so very true and real. I can totally relate to it. Can't seem to get a handle on social media. But when I do...?
Thanks for your comment Richard x So appreciate it.
