That moment when an idea for a poem springs to mind,
And everything else gets left behind.
Must get this down on paper!
Or i may surely forget it later!
I'm lying in bed trying to get to sleep,
Tossing and turning,
Duvet tangled up in a heap,
Thoughts rush through my mind,
Like a tidal wave,
Thoughts of sleep are far behind.
One line flows into another,
Words as gentle as a flower.
Drifting me away on a beautiful cloud,
I want to write it all down,
Say it out loud!
I hope I remember this poem tomorrow,
Or I will be filled with regrettable sorrow!

A magnificent poem with fantastic ending dear poetess.....loved it
Jayne, I can so totally relate to this poem! Sometimes, it's so frustrating that I just get up and write it down. The problem: up all night writing more poems. At least, you didn't forget this winner of a poem!
Thank you everyone for your lovely kind comments : ) So appreciated x
A relatable dilemma is depicted in the lines of this splendid verse. The final two lines conclude the poem nicely.

I think we all do that. Great poem.
