[I wrote this poem in response to Robert Frost's 'Fire and Ice']
I was told that the cause for our end
(In an inevitable cosmic amend)
Is fire and ice.
Now wouldn’t that be nice?
What fertile dreams can some plot
And harvest wars, and set the rot
Some have died many a times
While some, maybe, or sometimes.
The curious means to our end
Can only make me pretend
That all’s well when it’s not
I remember now what I forgot.
That while some live their dreams
Some practice being Supreme
Is the cause to live the heaven on earth,
Your mantra and devilish mirth?
Does it matter if its fire and ice
Even if they do suffice?
But it matters how you’ve led your life
Though you may live once or twice.

As long as life lead like a fire The ice, sure to extinguish it. So bringing both Fire and ice into picture. With these Fire and Ice taking their relevance Life and death possible several times In one life itself. The great poet had a inclination on - 'Fire' - for the end of life on earth. In the present context - one is dying each day several times. It difficult to think beyond up to the end of the world. Thank you. Good read.
A great poem indeed - common sense expressed in pefect rhymes...10/10 from me.
You have written a great poem, summed up in the last stanza by the words 'yes it does matter how you live your life'.
Does it matter if its fire and ice Even if they do suffice? But it matters how you’ve led your life Though you may live once or twice. true to the core, of your poetry the readers want more, the readers want more
Commonsense penned poetically and with a smile. A thoughtful poem. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
