Cavort spin from side to side
puff away in my minds eye
careless from all time I bide
swirling robes like incense I
Happy happy with the air
flip and flick my cherub hair
tap gargoyle here steeple there
soar above to swoop below
from fairy castle to demon's lair
along the moat with water flow
smile smile at natures done
free am now in so much fun
whisper day to tawny owl
buzz like bees in his ear
shriek to fluster water fowl
scatter all in alien fear
giggle giggle at this my life
forget all pain of boarded strife
tweak petals of forget-me-nots
lullabies hum like flowing brooks
soothe the babies in their cots
wink and nod at side long looks
bliss bliss it appears to me
so happy I to be thus free
sip some nectar here and there
dust the stamens of yon flowers
nod to doves, in a cooing pair
flit and turn in shady bowers
merry merry on a grassy sling
what delight doth freedom bring
on bat's winged back I fly
toss in air then slowly glide
amid flowery baskets happy lie
world my oyster opens wide
free! free! at last I sing
tulips daisies, bells ring.
A drama i analysed last year with my students.I must state you post competition to Shakespear
Beautiful poem, it's the language you used to describe did captivate my heart. I have read it loudly at least twice. Wisdom lies in each lines. I can just tell fantastic flow of words. I loved reading lines..thanks for sharing.
The sense of freedom after a prolonged captivity beautifully portrayed in equally beautiful bards language.......the free spirit and his madness of being released if captured well in the words.........as always lyrical and hummable
My Ariel, chick, / That is thy charge: then to the elements / Be free, and fare thou well! ........... Prospero: Why, that's my dainty Ariel! I shall miss thee; But yet thou shalt have freedom. So, so, so. .............What a beautiful song of freedom you have written! I see Ariel singing in swirling gowns with my mind's eye. I liked much the dainty song of Dainty Ariel! And it's the song of each dainty soul, Valsa ma'am s rightly said.

This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
merry merry on a grassy sling what delight doth freedom bring Lovely lines.....! Once freed by Prospero, Ariel who has been cursed by Sycorax, flies into a world of unbounded freedom, but never forgets his redeemer and is at his beck and call to do whatever service he could render.... The memories of the time we learned Tempest as a student and later taught it as a teacher are revived... Thanks for this lovely song of Ariel.... It is equally the song of every emancipated soul!
