Ballad 3 Poem by Ahmad Shiddiqi

Ballad 3

Rating: 5.0

no prayer this dream wherewith your love was chilled
while through your spirit the innocent question thrilled
in Gerbera daisy they have heard angels speak
hardest to harder when Destiny's pulleys creak

one whom you adored has drained The Wadden Sea
once more, and now, has raised the eternity
go daintily, in compact and dreamy views!
to fisherman's boat, or recite poetic speeches

waiting for the things Caravaggio loved, with soul aglow
her heart should soften, you will not know
now fearless hopes run through the empowering roll
in Salem and sky cries out its toll

but still they feel the sympathy as she stands
the eye-marks sparkling in her feet and hands
had made of God's strong world a wondrous spell
with flowing rivers and meadows gashed like pearl

you share with us pearls while other ones put their verses in books and sell them expensively! .....i see you write for poetry not for money and that's good from you....you are what we call the real friend..
