Batman - Poem by malerie walker

He started out as plain ‘ol Bruce
Until the bad guys made a truce
He now is Batman
For bats are his fear, but that was part of the plan

This wealthy hero
Has never been a zero
Left money when his parents were mugged
Then killed, by bats he’s always been bugged

He spends his time
Fighting crime
While evil hides in the dark
Hoping Batman’s’ bark
Is bigger than his bite

Of course, they’re wrong
And they end up in jail, waiting ‘til their escape comes along
It almost never does, though
And they live a live of regret and sorrow

Whatever villains Batman faces
He knows he’ll always win the race
The Joker, Mr. Freeze, and Penguin are just a few
But the Riddler, Ragdoll, and Firefly he fought, too

Even if you just get pushed down
Batman will be around
To protect the good people of
Gotham, a city of a crime-fighting hero that rises above the rest
