Men go crazy after wealth
It reaches some, unsought
It comes to some, unawares
But it eludes most, unbidden
Going after wealth
Is like trying to catch a bird
It involves great craft
Demands drill and discipline
Often it flies above our heads
Or it may perch on the height of trees
At times it swoops down to Earth
Or it may roost within its nest
Some catch it in a trap
Some hatch it in a nest
Some shoot it down to death
Those of brain and brawn,
chase it down to yield,
To a few it comes to alight on the hand.
But be wary, when you deal with it
It will die, if you hold it too tight
It will fly off your grip
If you hold it too loose.
A fantastic poem indeed......Valsa......great imagery with great composition on creation of wealth with different skills......great piece
But be wary, when you deal with it It will die, if you hold it too tight It will fly off your grip If you hold it too loose. A great write...................10
Loved the poem for its great sense of humour. Wealth is such a thing that everyone loves to have but is unsure to admit.
Going after wealth Is like trying to catch a bird It involves great craft Demands drill and discipline... great theme. A meaningful poem shared.
The lessons of money are many for those that have money and those who don't. I love the likening to a bird and means of acquiring money. I do daydream guiltily sometimes of having a lot of money..... to have that spending power would be ultimate security in the materialist world. Yet, I know money would not save me from illness, a terrible fate, or buy genuine love and happiness, so for now I am grateful for what I do have.10
in the hands of a fool it will soon be gone few becomes rich even fewer can hold on to it thanks Valsa-10

Unread this poem was lying here for long! Probably it is one of the unique shafts shot from your bow of philosophic learning. The fact however, remains logically inconclusive as to whether the questions of chasing or denouncing wealth have never taught any major lesson to humanity ever since the funeral of barter system. It is a poem that is another feather to the cap of your contributions dear Madam Valsa.
