Between going and staying
the day wavers,
in love with its own transparency.
The circular afternoon is now a bay
where the world in stillness rocks.
All is visible and all elusive,
all is near and can’t be touched.
Paper, book, pencil, glass,
rest in the shade of their names.
Time throbbing in my temples repeats
the same unchanging syllable of blood.
The light turns the indifferent wall
into a ghostly theater of reflections.
I find myself in the middle of an eye,
watching myself in its blank stare.
The moment scatters. Motionless,
I stay and go: I am a pause.
I find myself in the middle of an eye, watching myself in its blank stare. Much to illustrate the alienation. Quiet not hard to uplift ones state of mind at this stage. Poet defining fourth dimension and also showing the way to attain this certain level of truth. Magnificent. Marvelous just to feel eternally....I stay and go: I am a pause......Flag it high. Lovely lines: The moment scatters. Motionless, I stay and go: I am a pause.
The moment scatters motionless.......how beautiful to it read is beyond expression. Great.
Nice poem, but it was also chosen as poem of the day on November 17,2012 and November 17,2013. Poem Hunter, please have some of your humans (if you have any at the website) actually read some of the recent poems and start choosing new ones for poem of the day instead of letting your computers do it.
The moment scatters. Motionless, I stay and go: I am a pause...... amazing concluding. Beautiful poem.
Profound poem chosen by Poem Hunter and Team as The Modern Poem Of The Day. Full marks
CONT: and emphasizes the tension between perception and reality. Unlike Paz's grand themes in other works, this poem stands out for its condensed and introspective nature.
The poem revolves around stillness, introspection, and the interplay between inner and outer worlds. Through vivid imagery, the poem captures the fleeting nature of time
Excellent! My favourite lines: All is visible and all elusive/all is near and can't be touched.
