Broken Children Poem by suzan gumush

Broken Children

Rating: 5.0

I've come across many neglected children
They carry a pain
Thats left a mark
An uncured wound
A broken heart
A broken home
Due to parents disappearing
Or out there searching
Always there children they are hurting
Why! ....
Because of greed
Because of need
Because of temptation
Or because of drugs!
These children never did ask to be born
And find there status torn
Ripped apart and shredded!
How selfish can those parents be
All for want and for themselves to repair
The only place they have come to tear
Are the roots of those children
Who live there lives searching for there souls
Life becomes a riddle
When only themselves they muddle
Walking down those empty streets
Meeting up with others who swollowed the same
Now they've decided to create a new game
Let it be violence!
And push those parents into shame
Yet it is always
Those poor children who live with blame!
If this is freedom of choice!
Then let those poor children
Make a voice!

Thought provoking, children are the hope of the future...they should be heard! Well-penned!

The thought is so mind-stirring that I couldn’t resist writing my humble comments… I won’t say it is the best piece, because my thirsty and tormented spirit is still craving for little more after reading this simple, soulful and beautifully composed poem. I am not fully known to the pain of being neglected as I have been lucky enough to find few significant ones in my life, who stood by me always unconditionally. Still I couldn’t resist a teardropp to fall on my withered cheeks after reading this true picture of Human life, misery and helplessness. Thank you Dr Kamran Haider

Broken children are so often conceived by broken children and so the terrible cycle of neglect continues. Your poem is written from experience and shows your frustration at being unable to help. But you do help, indirectly, by sharing your grief and writing this poem. What surprises me is how many of these neglected kids do in fact survive and grow up to live the sort of lives they themselves deserved. Your title is excellent, by the way as is your final line. love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

We can be sorrowful, sadness is something else - something we will on our ourselves. This poem speaks of sorrow, and pain, awaiting healing. Though lives are so difficult to mend, still there is hope of recovery, if parents could go back to their children and pour new life of love into them. We need not be too sad, let's sorrow and then do something about it. Oh, i have children and grandchildren.

Suzan this piece made confirms my belief that my children are lucky to have me as their father. Even though we had little in the way of worldly goods I love my daughters and did all I could to make sure that they were happy and that they knew I love them more than life itself and now that they're adults I'm so proud of them and myself for raising such wonderful compassionate daughters
