All That I Am - Poem by suzan gumush

All that I've been given
Is all that I am
I am no more than
What I am
Life has been a tease
All I've done is try to please
Still I ask for nothing
Nothing do I want
All I need is a magic wand
To take me out of what I'm in
I don't want to share their sins
All that I am
is who I be
No one ever made me!

intense poem.. a flow of powerful emotions.. the magic wand reminds me of harry potter.. but the situation is different here.. it's as if u r drown metaphorically and the wand would be the boat or something like that...no one beside u, , it's only u there...very touching poem...thanks (Report)Reply

    Suzane,
Isn't everyone part of everything that they have ever known,
    ... more or less?
Oh! , sorry... but, you just said that.
Are you not molded in that image also and,
    - - - therefore, made by everything and everyone that you have ever known?

Magic phrase: 'I Am That I Am'. Appears as if you might have a wand; -) ! Lovely, sublime. -R. (Report)Reply

That is a lovely write, wise and true, i agree with Scott, but it is hard to do because we are what we are due to a melange of influences and inherent aspects that mould us deeply.
thank you for that beautiful piece.

Oh contraire young lady you have been shaped and formed since birth. But, you are who you are and that can only be changed by you. I enjoyed the read, what a great job. May peace and joy fill your heart.
