But I Still Love You Poem by Practicing Poetess

But I Still Love You

Rating: 5.0

I'm tired, and out-of-sorts
The day has taken its toll
It's not yet time for bed,
But here I am, feeling old.
Can't take much more of this,
I really need you to hold.
You've been away too long,
But I want you to know
That I still love you, dear
For that love stays in my heart
It's what sustains me
Times when we must be apart.
My motivating force
At each new day's start.
Until you return to me,
That love is my guard.

Thank you so much, Rose Marie! I wanted to use 'faithfulness' or 'fidelity' as my poem topic, but it didn't offer me those options.
