Changing Faces Poem by Jaishree Nair

Changing Faces

Rating: 4.6

The faded names in the coffer of memories
along with the fresh ones
trickle out moments from room twelve
with a twinge of sadness!

Humming the rhyming thoughts of Byron and Keats
to the changing faces of generations
Pouring out the hidden emotions
of the pioneers with soulful depths!

The evolution of the young
that enters the room at the ground floor
has awed the masked perception
of the mentor to the core!

New gen with new genes
a puzzle challenging poses
Cautious in handling
as too fragile in the make!

Weak in emotion
Strong in action
A burning glance can quicken their beats
to deeds unthought of!

Their ego but a bubble
The peers boost their adreline
Respect they seek not
as respect they give rare!

Live in the present
their motto in unision
Styles and trends their passion to copy
debit or credit cards various in pockets!

Pampered and ungroomed
they live to live the moment
in selfish pleasures and joys
no thoughts of consequences!

Groomed and polished
They shine out like precious stones
but to bell the cat
No one so brave to trouble!

Gaps remain between generations- a natural phenomenon.

A beautiful poem on the life style of present generation guys. Very nicely crafted to make it an interesting reading. 'Their ego but a bubble The peers boost their adreline Respect they seek not as respect they give rare! '.. is very true. Thanks for sharing.10++

Hi Jaishree Change is the only phenomenon that does not change. True, times have changed and the new generation often does not leave much room for us to understand them. But, our previous generation would have said the same words about us too.
