CORONA has no prejudice
Against any of its unsuspecting hosts,
High and low, rich and poor,
Powerful and powerless,
Who, through their indifference
And callous attitude
Invite it to their homestead.
Corona is deadlier than a disease.
It has no vaccine as yet.
It chokes its patient to death.
It destroys his lungs,
The patient dies gasping for breath.
‘Locked Down' and ‘Social Distancing'
Are the two new terminologies
Mankind is grappling with, to survive.
The busy roads are empty,
The pubs and the eateries are deserted,
The beaches are bereft of visitors,
The dolphins play sommersault there, merrily.
People do ‘Work from Home',
Students do distance learning,
The groceries await the rare customers,
The dogs cluster together on the roads,
The public transports lie idle in the yards.

Let us hope the menace should end soon. It has built walls between humans. Father's can't reach sons, lovers can't meet lovers, and so on. But we have to pbey the rule of social distancing till an effecting vaccine is not found. Nice write. Thanks for sharing.
@Anil Kumar Panda, 'It has built walls between humans' - you have rightly said so. Now, after about ten months of its appearance, Covid-19 seems to have come to stay, at least for several more years, and we've got to learn to live with it. The 'Locked down' state has had colossal effects on the economy of most of the countries already, the full picture is yet to emerge. Thanks for reading the poem, and obliging me with a thoughtful comment.
This decease has no prejudice. The one true goodness from this is, no one is rushing, peace has regained its rightful place....for now
'The one true goodness from this is, no one is rushing, peace has regained its rightful place....for now.' - Thanks for describing the corona invaded situation of the time, so nicely, dear poet @Sarah Persson
A very realistic narrative, stark as the virus is. But let us hope this too shall pass.
@Aniruddha Pathak, 'But let us hope this too shall pass' - hope so, but it seems it will pass only after taking a sizeable toll. Thanks, dear poet, for visiting my page and leaving a kind comment.
Your eloquent and informative poem aptly describes how the coronavirus crisis has affected the lives of us all. Well written and thought provoking.
