Great tribute to a loving father for everything he means and does for the welfare of his child. Behind every great child is a truly amazing Father. He had crossed bridges none dared to go. Trounced tons of battles life had to throw.
I can't thank you enough for recognizing my work. My Dad is an Overseas Filipino Worker.
I like your poem very much. Your jaunty tone is just pitch-perfect: it pulls us into the poem by its charming rhythms, and before we realize it we are learning things about the man which make us share your admiration. But (this is is really important in a praise-poem!) you don't push us into admiring him, you don't overstate your emotional connection, you don't get sentimental and make us feel, Gosh, do we have to like him? No, you lead us through anecdotes to see him through your eyes and we willingly follow you, because your language is persuasive. What this really means is that you are telling the truth about your father and I feel your sincerity in every line. Your father deserves not only your praise but your honesty. And this praise and honesty make me think fondly of my own beloved father. This is a shining example of a Poem for the Day! ! !
