Dear Mom From Your Daughter - Poem by Harita Mohan

To my dear mom
i don't know if u love me
or hate me
I know i haven't given you
reasons to love me
but please know this i
have always loved you

When i some times rest my head
in your lap, i think
how fortunate iam to get you
But sometimes when you
scold me i think how much i hate
but when later u come to me
and hold me, i feel ashamed so much
that i ever doubted you
i feel so guilty myself
Will you ever forgive me.

the sleepless nights
when i have a fever or any cold
the busy mornings
when we prepare to go to school
and you to office
u do everything without any complaints
how many times you have forgotten
your wishes and dreams
to fulfill ours
How can i ever repay you

I write this from my bedside table
in the lamplight from the
distant and cold hostel room
i realize that there is no
replace for your love
Always loving you
Your Daughter
