I.
When the younger years grinned at your dreams,
You ignored them, —and you dived as a dolphin,
Into the waters of your un-consciousness;
Waving with the poetical waves, which gave you
Malleability of vision, undulations of creation:
Without extinguishing the fire of your blood;
II.
You swam with the vapours of invisibility,
Forming palpability—morphing dreams into reality.
The blood of the grapes, the spirit of the wine
Was your only companion: guiding you to your Spirit:
Two spirits defying loneliness; two friends listening
To each other's words and worries, poetry,
Ecstasy and inebriation, solitude and silent sleep…
III.
The following day dawned with headache, and a soft shame:
You ignored your head, and became heart:
The fire of wine was still in your blood,
The nature still before your eyes, and the visions
Were vivid, with eyelids widely open into your soul: —
You are the stoic dolphin ever awake, ever swimming
With the currents of life…slippery and supple:
Shaping the water—never shaped by water itself!
You are the ‘cold-blooded' fish of visions and allusions!
IV.
The underwater depths of un-consciousness you dive into,
Effervescent bubbles of oxygen, limited consumption; thus,
To extend your life: —you, wise dolphin, lover of liberty!
Unconstrained by friends or lovers lost; neither by beauty
Nor by death, by faith or fate, and ways of the world:
Placid in your place of delectable extravagant pleasures: —
Drink on, my fish; swim on—and on, my dolphin!
Plunge your acrobatic length; dive and delve into the aquatic,
Unfathomed depths of your cognisant Un-consciousness…
This poem took me to a trance. 'You are the stoic dolphin ever awake, ever swimming With the currents of life…slippery and supple: Shaping the water—never shaped by water itself! You are the ‘cold-blooded' fish of visions and allusions! ' - Wonderful!
A magnificent piece of work with a captivating title! I took the chance to dive differently into 4 pools that you have created! Relished my bath in your last pool! An outstanding composition....Top score!
