When you think of all the things
that you have done, both good and bad.
Do you wonder which ones made you
live the life that you have had?
If you were standing naked
showing everyone your soul,
Do you think the things you've done
will have taken such a toll?
Will your soul look very lovely
or will it have some stains?
Have your choices smudged it?
Maybe the dirt is what remains?
Is there a way to wash your soul?
To cleanse off all the dirt?
To wipe away the painful things you've done...
erase the hurt?
Perhaps we should just think of this
with each thing that we do.
I wouldn't want my soul exposed with stains...
How about you?
This poem has shades of old-time revival meetings I have attended. Everyone needs to think upon these things. Raynette
I enjoyed reading your poem. The meaning has great sound. With Respect, Jodilee
I don't too much mind standing naked and exposing my soul, it is the other minute parts I hate to expose, good write, Mary
Mary, you make a great point with wonderful visuals. Certainly, an interesting view... great write! ! Brian
answer to your question- scars are a way of showing that you've made mistakes and you've become stronger, smarter, better. thats why i love scars. not showing your scars is the same as hiding a part of who you are a part of your soul.my question-would you do that? ? ? ? ..............
MARY, I LIKE THE POEM, I THINK YOU WERE HOLDING BACK ON THE POINTS YOU MADE, STILL I LIKE THE POEM...
I shudder to think Mary, how about trying some good old soap and water? Sincerely Ernestine
I liked the poem too. Although I feel that what's on my soul is nobody's business but mine and eventually God's (or his ordained representatives; -) ! Take care. R.

Mary, This poem makes me think. We all make our choices and then we live with them, but we can change and make different choices - it's never too late. avr
