Don't Run From Love
Time will fade your memory.
We'll lose the connection we once had.
We'll become like two strangers; we
Will feel awkward; it will be so sad.
And what of all that we once shared?
Will that all be forgotten, wasted?
And what about how much we cared?
Will we regret the love we tasted?
Don't be afraid. Don't run from love
From what so many others sought.
We're special; we fit hand-in-glove,
And love is something can't be bought.
You say you need to find yourself;
I'll take that journey with you.
And if you lose your way, I'll help
Together, we will get through.
The journey's lonely without a friend
To keep you company.
And I'll be faithful to the end,
You can count on me.

Louis, you are so right- - Love is sharing, togetherness, sensitivity to the other's needs- - In short, it is mutual. Without the other one there, it's so one-sided! Thank you for your lovely comment.
Sincere, genuine sentiments; I like 'we fit hand-in-glove' in particular. A loyal person will be 'faithful to the end/ You can count on me'. Finding such a person is like stumbling on a goldmine. The quatrain in rhyming couplets suits your style so well.
