Environment 19 - The Ducks, Lake & The Trees
Just as the sky birds teach you to fly with wings,
Thousand dreams in flight to come true;
So does the water birds teach you to remain grounded,
To live your dreams in the tranquillity of your environment.
Every man puts a weight on the scale of his life,
Some with limited desires, others with unlimited ambitions,
More the weight of wants and wishes,
More the scale tilts to the ground, to fall or to drown.
The Ducks are adept in adjusting to their environment,
While the Teals tolerate extreme cold and survive iced winters,
Whatever the season, they stay or swim in perfect measure,
Without tilting, slipping, falling or drowning in the lake.
These lake birds have no loads on their backs,
That's why they are able to balance so well in water,
The only movement they do is to duck down,
Isn't that the reason why a duck is called a duck?
The Duck bends down to pick up with humility,
Thanking God for the serene environment of
The lake, the trees, the sun and the moon,
Bowing down with gratitude to the divine rhythm of Nature.
Everything around us which is the part of nature has the potential to teach us something such as 'the water birds teach you to remain grounded'. Not only the birds but we human beings should also be grateful to bow 'down with gratitude to the divine rhythm of Nature'. Thanks, Geeta ji, for such an amazing poem on nature.
