Escape Poem by Practicing Poetess

Escape

Rating: 5.0

Screaming traffic
And all the masked faces downtown
And all the tall buildings
With computers and ticker-tape
Are crowding out
Beauty, sensitivity, originality- -
De-personalizing everything.
Perhaps rolling hills
And fragrant fields and meadows
And wooded areas
Would restore my lost life- -
But not if I go to them alone.
No; I'll take one thing from the city along- -
I'll take you.

I'll second that! The city exhausts me. Give me rolling hills and fragrant fields any day. Maybe I could join you? Oh yes, three's a crowd...

Three's not always a crowd, Laurie- - it depends on the person. You'd be most welcome. The more, the merrier! (Give us that refreshing non-city air!) :)
