EVERYDAY POEM _22
War and War
2nd April 2026

I take my eyes away from the T.V.Screen
When war pictures crop up
Cities, buildings and industries going in flames
Multi storied buildings collapsing like a pack of cards
God knows
Who are under the rubble!

I take my eyes away
When I see cut limbs
And blood oozing bodies lying here and there
Terrified people running for life from smoke and fire
God knows what will happen to them!

Oh! Don't see, don't see those horrible scenes
When men kill men, women and children
They kill and kill irrespective of young or old
Spilling blood on the road.

Will the war stop?
Will ever reason come to those
Who play power games
At the cost of the world's misery?

Markets tumbling
Thousands losing jobs
Thousands displaced
Thousands losing livelihood
Thousands of people die and many wounded
For what ego
Do you have an answer?
What is the cause
Justifiable enough
For the devastation, destruction and mayhem worldwide?

I long and yearn for the peace that Revelation also mentions: He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.

As Revelation says of God judging the wicked: From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule[a] them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty.

A terrible thing war is indeed! I will never be able to fathom such reckless hate such as this! May God return soon to judge those evildoers who direct the world into chaos!
