Evolve - Poem by Joel Nicholas George

The darkness overwhelms my once bright and thriving realm,
cold dead hands grasp at the fibers of my humanity,
i fought to keep my soul tethered to u...
my love, my desire, my essence...t'was all in vain,
the heart that was once glowing and full of life has gone cold,
never have i felt so much pain,
my tears flow as lava,
my cries are as the might of Ares,
i die from the inside out,
my love fading....but even as it fades,
it is replenished by something darker...stronger,
never have i felt so powerful,
insanity screams from my veins,
muscles built on despair fuel my desire for revenge,
as i stir from the cocoon of my anguish,
my eyes open to the fetid darkness,
i envision my new realm as i see through new eyes,
i look upon my creator as she laughs,
i feel nothing but hate for the beauty that she is....
