So I guess it's father's day again.
I never could figure out the true meaning of father's day.
What?
Buy the guy a tie?
Take him out for dinner?
How's about a bottle of Jack?
I've got an even better idea:
I'll pay $9.95 to one of those 'people finders'
and tell them...
Tell them what?
'Go find Kevin'?
And when they ask me for the last name
of this mysterious missing person,
as we all know they always do,
I'll be back at square one.
Even if, by some chance,
I were to stumble across the location
of the mysterious missing man,
also known as 'Kevin',
what would I say?
'Hi stranger.'
Oh, Amanda...you don't know your father? I'm sorry. This poem made me sad and I could feel the hurt hidden in the sarcasm. The poem was so heartfelt and very well written, though, and you get top marks from me. God bless you. Sheila
I am sure a lot of folk will identify with how you feel about the missing link of your father Amanda, I certainly do. Excellent missing fathers day poem. It will make a lot of men think before running. Or even one would be worth a million to someone like you. Well done. I feel for you, but never give up hope, he may decide to come and find you one day. Thanks for sharing this very personal poem with us. Yes you were right, first I have read recently of your work and I recognise your open heart style. Keep writing, Tai

Dear Amanda I was twenty four when I met my dad, I found out where his lived and phoned him up I remember the conversation well Me: Hello Dad: Hello, who's that Me: Duncan Dad: Duncan who? It was quite funny looking back I asked if he would come to my wedding, he said he would, amnd since then we have become quite good friends, You cannot replace your missing years, but you can try and find some-kind of peace within yourself, Remember one thing...YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! no-one can touch that and no-one can take it away...... All the finest your way Love duncan X
